Great style is about authenticity—and there’s few brands in the world who can truly claim it. One that without a doubt can, is the renowned French nautical brand, Saint James, purveyor of the original fisherman sweater and mariner stripes. This season, the heritage brand has partnered with Parisian designer Marie Marot, whose staple button-up shirts demonstrate her own mastery of authenticity.
The joint capsule collection incudes two sweaters, two shirts, and a beanie—all marrying Marot’s quintessentially urban French style with the iconic look of Saint James. The old-time favorite ‘Matelot’ sweater comes in solid black and one with white stripes. The signature anchor motif button is present in an elegant, matte-black version. Like the original, Marot’s update on the historical piece is warm enough to take on a winter fishing expedition. For that same reason, a beanie had to be a part of the equation too—a sailor wouldn’t set sail without one, and neither would Ms. Marot.
For the first time, the collection has made its way across the pond, exclusively at Saint James New York in New York.
Saint James, 41 East 78th Street, NY, New York.
