LVMH Acquires Emilio Pucci

LVMH is starting to run out of luxury labels to purchase. After having retained a majority stake in the brand since 2000, the French conglomerate has officially claimed Emilio Pucci’s entire ownership.

For an undisclosed price, LVMH purchased the founding family’s final stake in the company. As a result, Laudomia Pucci is stepping down from her role as image director, which fully removes all ties to the family tree aside from the house’s name.

So where is Pucci going from here? As the Italian brand is one of LVMH’s smaller houses, Emilio Pucci certainly has much to grow into. Which should result in an exciting new chapter for the brand, as the departure of Laudomia and lack of creative director since 2017 leave the Pucci with a prime opportunity for full re-interpretation. Perhaps the upcoming collaboration with Supreme is a hint of what may arrive in the future.

Known for their vibrant prints and sought-after vintage pieces, Emilio Pucci has always added a lively color palette to the fashion world. CR has no doubt that their next chapter will be even more fun.
