Beneath rainbow-colored genitalia by the artist Jimmie Dunham and life-sized, painted illusions by Laura Owens, whose who’s from the worlds of fashion and art collided inside the glass chambers of the Whitney for the New York museum’s annual change of the guards, the Art Party, last night, Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Co-chaired by CR-favorite Natasha Poly, designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, and model/mentor Ashley Graham, the party not only introduces the host’s fall galleries, but also benefits its Independent Study Program, among other education initiatives. “As a New Yorker, I was so honored to chair the Art Party this year,” Graham told CR. “The Whitney is a venerated philanthropic institution, and I’m happy to contribute to the fundraising efforts for education in the arts.” See our favorite fashion moments from the Birkenstock-sponsored night below.
