Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2016

Although Balenciaga’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection was designed in-house during the period in-between Alexander Wang and Demna Gvasalia’s tenure, we can’t help but think that the Vetements designer had the chance to add a finishing flourish to the collection before it was finalized. Trappings of his signature aesthetic are everywhere: Take, for example, the billowing, floor-length floral dress, the flashes of fluorescent greenish-yellow, the oversized solid black hoodie, the thigh-high patent stiletto boots, and the slouchily layered silhouettes.
