For four consecutive years, Carine Roitfeld has hosted and curated amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS runway show during the Cannes Film Festival. This year Carine introduced ‘The Disco Collection,’ which was inspired by the fashion and original queens of disco. “Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli, Jerry Hall, Diana Ross, and Diane Von Furstenberg—each one has made her own contributions to the glamorous Studio 54 days through music, fashion, or modeling—and for defying what it meant to be a woman during that time,” Carine says. Last night at Hotel du Cap, Doutzen, Isabeli Fontana, Hanne Gaby, Soo Joo Park, Bella Hadid, and more models took on the personas of these icons with help from gowns by the industry’s top designers and plenty of Harry Winston bling. At the end of the evening, the collection and jewels were auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going towards amfAR’s continuous efforts to fund the research and cure for AIDS. When disco, glamour, and goodwill come together so beautifully, everyone wins. Go inside of this spectacular event with CR’s behind the scenes film by director Fabien Constant.
