The house of Chanel’s video series, Inside Chanel, is set to debut an entirely new collection of episodes this month for its 27th chapter. Since 2012, the brand has released a series of short films that focus on its founder and history. Each story has its own unique style through the use of archival footage and contemporary graphics. The new program will focus on how Chanel’s pivotal bond with the arts influenced “the heart of the Chanel Revolution.”

Through an inside look at Chanel’s various friendships with artists in Paris and her awareness of cultural movements at the time, the first episode of the new chapter, “Gabrielle Chanel and the Arts,” explores all the connections she fostered in the creative world. It was through her rendezvous with artists of the avant-garde movement that sparked her rather unconventional and liberated approach to her first-ever designs.

Following this episode, four additional videos will cover Chanel’s relationship with literature, cinema, music, and dance.

“Gabrielle Chanel and the Arts” premieres on February 24, 2020 on the Inside Chanel website.
