Louis Vuitton Channels Horror and Sci-Fi in a Star-Studded Pre-Fall 2020 Lookbook

For Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2020 lookbook, Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière looked to literature and film, creating 23 horror and sci-fi-inspired images that evoke movie posters and book covers to present the collection. The lookbook features various brand ambassadors and celebrities, including Emma Roberts, Alicia Vikander, Jaden Smith, and American Horror Story co-stars, Billie Lourd and Cody Fern. Ghesquière posted all the looks to his Instagram, referring to the lookbook as a collection of narratives in which the garments tell the story.

The unique, colorful, and playful posters call for gripping stories, yet the focus remains on the clothing. The designer styled the stars in looks ranging from sportswear to fine tailoring, often juxtaposing the two. On the poster titled “The Devil’s Mansion,” Sophie Turner wears a camel overcoat on top of a cream suit and moon boots.

Elsewhere, Laura Harrier sports a camel aviator jacket and a matching monogram bag for the cover of “Forbidden Games.” The likes of Léa Seydoux and Stacy Martin pair sparkly cocktail numbers over graphic t-shirts, while the cream and lace of Jennifer Connelly’s dress allows her to stand out against the hazy background of “Dream Keeper.”
