Carine’s Eyewear Guru

We can think of quite a few people in fashion who are known for their signature eyewear—namely our friends Carine and Karl. What you might not know is where their signature designs come from. We’d like to formally introduce you to French luxury eyewear expert John Dalia, who is known for his tweaks on classic shapes made from the finest materials available. “Since our inception, we’ve used premium acetate, which we’ve mixed with brand new colors for Spring Summer 2016, like this gorgeous “pink tortoise” with gold plated 22karats titanium (yellow, rose and black gold) for all the metallic parts and mainly for the branches. We added inserts on the faces and guilloche—this is the new sophistication that I mentioned earlier.”

This season, we’re throwing the idea of “signature” out the window in search of a new look. So we took our favorite pairs from Dalia’s soon-to-be released Spring Summer collection and placed them on our go-to “Carine look-alike” model, Marine Vanoutryve. “Our main direction for this collection was to respect our DNA—which has been built from classic and elegant styles—and to also bring more sophistication and delicacy,” John Dalia says. “We truly believe there is no universal perfect shape. Everyone is different and has his style and preference. For this collection, mine is the Charles B. It’s a unisex shape!” If we had to guess, we’d peg Carine’s new look as Jack N. for no reason other than the fact that they’re the most badass—that part of your signature look is inescapable.
