Miu Miu Heads to the Deep American South for its Fall 2017 Ad Campaign

Miuccia Prada has taken on us on imaginary adventures before. For Spring 2017 it was “Suddenly Next Summer,” and today we’ve been transported to the deep American South for the house’s Fall/Winter 2017 advertising campaign. Supermodel Kate Moss and award-winng actress Naomie Harris star in the imagery alongside models Missy Rayder, Jean Campbell, Eliza Cumming, Jasmine Daniels, Rose Daniels, Lily Nova, and the Preservation Hall Brass Band. The diverse casting is as diverse as the references drawn from what Miu Miu calls “old-timey” sensibilities to glamour circa 2017.

Draped in the Spanish moss of the Mississipi Bayou, the dreamy collage of photos was taken by photographer Alasdair McLellan in the port of New Orleans. “In certain places and amidst certain sounds, time seemingly circles itself,” a statement from Miu Miu reads. “Throughout the untamed, thick-aired Mississippi bayou, the siren of insects is interlaced with jazz melodies somehow both timeless and avant-garde.” Can you feel it?
