Executive vice president of Louis Vuitton and a member of LVMH’s executive committee Delphine Arnault welcomed the newcomers, stating that “they are witnesses and essential actors of fashion. Their vision helps to discover the most promising talents. I would like to thank them warmly for their loyalty and commitment to our cause.”

The semi-final of the LVMH prize is set to be held at the LVMH headquarters in Paris, on February 27 and February 28. Among the 20 semi-finalists, only eight designers will be selected to continue to the Prize finale, held on June 5 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. The committee of international experts will be in charge of the selection.
The winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will receive 300,000 Euros plus a year of coaching from the LVMH team. The finalists will present their creations before the jury, which will be announced by Arnault herself. Womenswear designer Thebe Magugu won last year’s Prize. Another honor, the Karl Lagerfeld Prize which is new this year, allows designers to walk away with 150,000 Euros and a year of mentoring.
“I am pleased to see how the LVMH Prize, imagined by the LVMH group as a real support for young creatives, has grown since its launch in 2013,” Arnault said. “It is the responsibility of the LVMH group, as the industry leader in fashion and luxury, to support and follow the great designers of tomorrow,”
