GeoEngineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist for our Portland, Oregon office. Responsibilities of this position include project management, coordination of environmental field programs and remediation projects, client relationship development and support, and technical report writing. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in environmental site assessment, remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS), and remediation of sediment, soil, and groundwater.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages environmental field programs including site investigations, monitoring, and remedial implementation projects.
- Communicates and serves as primary contact with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Project and task management duties, such as developing scopes of work and budgets, coordination with clients, project bidding/subcontractor solicitation, invoicing, cost control, and contract reviews.
- Analyzes field and laboratory environmental data and develops solutions to complex problems.
- Serves as a technical resource for clients and project staff, providing guidance on tasks and projects.
- Prepares high-quality deliverables such as work plans, site investigation reports, and feasibility studies. Engineers will also prepare engineering design reports, plans, and specifications.
- Reviews deliverables from junior and mid-level employees such as field reports, calculations, analyses, and reports. Mentors junior staff relative to field procedures and other technical skills, consulting best practices, and business development.
- Leads business-development activities such as identifying potential new clients, attending conferences or professional association meetings, etc.
- Ensures that field and office work are performed consistent with project plans, specifications, quality control standards, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited college or university in civil or environmental engineering, 7-10+ years of environmental consulting or related professional experience.
- For engineers and geologists, professional licensure (Oregon PE or RG) or ability to obtain Oregon licensure within 6 months.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and how to apply them.
- Strong project management and technical environmental skillset.
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Works well independently and collaboratively as part of project teams and the Geoengineers’ environmental group.
- Strong oral and written communication and technical writing skills.
- Valid driveru2019s license.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to perform physical duties, including use of personal protective and respiratory equipment and occasional lifting.
- Able to perform consistent work on a PC.
- Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed. Travel will typically not exceed 10%.

This includes identifying potential safety hazards and reporting them in a timely manner and participating in project safety briefings. This also includes wearing appropriate safety equipment when working in the field and completing all required health & safety training prior to beginning field work.

GeoEngineers Pay and Benefit Transparency:
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Portland OR, as a Senior Geologist/PM or Senior Engineer/PM is $100,000 – $135,000. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineersu2019 salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
