Virgil Abloh and Chrome Hearts Collaborate

For a man who claims to be anti-collaboration, Virgil Abloh seems more than willing to make a few exceptions. The Off-White designer teamed up with Levi’s on a super exclusive collection of jeans earlier this year—and today he’s revealed a run of limited-edition tees with Chrome Hearts. The duo tested the waters of joint-venture in 2015 with a three-piece collab sold during Art Basel, but this is the first time that their efforts will available to buy outside of the US. Launching tomorrow, the capsule consists of short sleeved tees bearing a hybrid of the two brands’ logos along with the names of 17 international cities where Chrome Hearts resides.

The duo say that the decision to pair up again was born out of a mutual respect for the other and their brand’s perspective. Speaking of Chrome Heart’s co-founder Richard Stark, Virgil said that his “admiration for Richard’s creativity and what Chrome Hearts represents is genuine” and that they designed the tees in the hope of representing the “international view both of our brands possess.” Stark added that way back before they were introduced by a friend, he hadn’t heard of Virgil, but as soon as they met, they hit if off and the “collaboration thing just happened, naturally and instinctually.”

This easy-breezy, all-natural attitude is redolent throughout the tees, which we can see styling multiple ways—à la Carine tucked into a black pencil with fishnet stockings or as shown here, with a pair of your most-loved jeans.
