Kenzo creative directors, Laura Kim and Humberto Leon have passed the directorial reigns of their fifth short film to Orange is the New Black actress, Natasha Lyonne. Slated to be released in September, the feature is titled Cabiria, Charity, Chasity and stars Maya Rudolf in the lead role of Chasity, a woman embarking on an otherworldly journey to discover her future and reconcile her past.

Alongside Lyonne and Rudolf, the film’s talent includes actors Fred Armisen, Greta Lee, James Ransone, Matt Lucas, Macauly Culkin, Waris Ahluwalia, and Leslie Odom Jr. The short is set to spearhead the brand’s Fall 2017 advertising campaign and will premiere on Kenzo’s website in full on September 1st.

The feature is Kenzo’s latest lineages in the film genre. Lyonne, along for the ride, joins an increasingly diverse roll call of writers and directors who have collaborated with the house. This list includes people like Gregg Araki, Sean Baker, Carrie Brownstein, and Kahlil Joseph. In April, Kenzo’s film The Realest Real (directed by Carrie Brownstein), was selected as a finalist at The Tribeca Film Festival for the second annual Tribeca X Award.

In lieu of the short’s release, campaign imagery by Danish photographer Casper Sejerson is being rolled out as a teaser. Also on board with the film’s production, is costume designer Arianne Phillips, who has adapted the Fall 2017 runway collection into looks fit for the silver screen.
