Fashion’s rebel wasn’t afraid to make a political statement on the second day of NYFW. For Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2019 show, the designer was inspired by ’90s club culture, holographic glitter lips, and plenty of flannel. Models including Grace Elizabeth, Hoyeon Jung, Adesuwa, and Stella Maxwell donned chunky knits emblazoned with “riot”, “peace”, and “sex” as well as knee-high moon boots and neon flannels tied loosely around their waists. When it came time for Scott’s turn down the runway, he did so in a pair of jean shorts and a plain white t-shirt encouraging his spectators to tell their senators to stop Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
