Bottega Veneta Taps Original Super Lauren Hutton

When Lauren Hutton closed out Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2017 runway show back in September, the word ‘comeback’ was lauded all over social media.

Today, the 73-year-old model has returned to face the campaign for that same collection, alongside Joan Smalls, Vittoria Ceretti, Hannes Gobeyn, and Morten Nielsen. Comprised of a photos series and a minute-plus video, the two-part campaign is of particular significance to Bottega Veneta as it marks the house’s 50th Anniversary and creative director, Tomas Maier’s 15th year at its helm.

For both shoots, Maier and American photographer Todd Hido selected New York’s famed Modulightor Building—designed by Brutalist architect Paul Rudolph between 1989 to 1994—as the setting. Throughout, Lauren appears bathed in natural light as she poses casually against the building’s mid-century modern style lamps and furnishings. It’s a fresh vision for the house, but the casting is in keeping with the age-inclusive campaign trend that’s been sweeping through the fashion industry over the past couple of years. And rightfully so—watch the full ad video above and you can’t deny that Lauren’s still got it.
