When Carine launched CR Fashion Book, one of the first models she rang was Lara Stone. The Dutch star agreed to be transformed into a literal angel for a shoot in our debut edition and has gone on to star in nearly every issue since. She’s stripped off twice in the name of fashion, had her hair crimped into a mullet, and most recently, she channeled her inner Marie Antoinette for a Versailles-themed story in CR 9.
Speaking in her editor’s note last year, Carine singled out “my favorite, Lara Stone,” for redefining “tastes and perceptions,” allowing for “a new wave of models to follow in her footsteps with boldly atypical looks.”
Today is Lara’s birthday—and to celebrate we’re charting her best moments throughout the history of CR.
