When fashion collides with experimentation, Chloë Sevigny is never far behind. A cult actress and beloved It girl, Sevigny quickly became a mythical figure within the fashion industry, starring in several campaigns for A-list designers worldwide, most notably, Marc Jacobs. The link between the two dates back to the 1990’s, after a fated encounter on the set of Sonic Youth’s music video for “Sugar Kane,” resulted in 20-year-old Chloë Sevigny catching the eye of stylist Daisy Von Furth and being casted for the video, which was shot in Marc Jacobs’ showroom at Perry Ellis. The chanced meeting solidified a lifelong friendship between the actress and designer, who went on to make Sevigny a muse for several red carpet moments and even hired actor Drew Droege for his legendary Chloë Sevigny impersonations during the SS16 campaign.

Now, the duo joins forces for an unconventional reunion with the quintessential creative staging an eccentric takeover at Marc Jacobs’ HQ. As Sevigny poses with nude mannequins and teeters on stacks of shoe boxes, her dramatic collapse in the foyer makes one thing clear—being this iconic is no easy feat.

Lensed by Haley Wollens, Sevigny dons several pieces from Marc Jacobs’ Resort 2021 collection including a shaggy purple yeti jacket, shearling-trimmed tote bags, stacked platform boots, and a cozy oversized cardigan. With every pieces being featured in updated prints and colorways, the campaign effortlessly embodies both Chloë’s chic authenticity and the feminine sensibility of Marc Jacobs, a combination that will continue to stand the test of time.
