After over a year of disconnect and virtual life lacking physicality in many forms, Ludovic de Saint Sernin makes an argument for hyper-sexuality with his Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The French designer, known of his sex positive and gender liberating fashion celebrated a certain sensuality, feeding a longing created by space.
The garment’s nature by design emphasizes the body, leaving little the imagination with sheer fabrics, leather peak-a-boo constructions, and body-fitted spandex-like materials.
What is underneath is meant to be seen: dresses and tops formed from barely-there string, leather pieces braided together, and unbuttoned cardigans create the ultimate effortless sex appeal. Similar garments adorn any gender walking the runway, continuing to bend norms in the industry.
De Saint Sernin prioritizes the sense of feel with textures like leather and silk seen in white luxurious pajama-inspired button down and pants. Body hugging dresses, tops, and pants allure with a gleam of the spandex fabric. Pieces either beg to be slinked off or touched. The collection burns with temptation.
The last look features a blank thong with orange stitching, which is “just a little teaser,” De Saint Sernin says, to the collaboration with PornHub, who sponsored the show.
