Moncler Presents Mondogenius : A Digital Fashion Experience

No longer confined to the traditional structure of Fashion Week, Moncler’s new show, “Mondogenius,” traveled through five cities in collaboration with 11 designers to create a unique digital fashion experience. Award-winning musical artist and Moncler’s Global Partner Alicia Keys hosted the odyssey show, opening live from Milan and leading the viewers around the world to Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, and New York City.

    Keys opened the show asking the viewer what being a genius entails. She urged the audience, “We all have the capacity for genius.” Utilizing collaboration throughout the show enforces this idea. The 11 designers the show included were Moncler 1952 Man designer Sergio Zambon, Moncler 1952 Woman designer Veronica Leoni, Moncler Grenoble designer Sandro Mandrino, Gentle Monster, HYKE, Craig Green, fragment design, JW Anderson, Palm Angels, 1017 ALYX 9SM, and DingYun Zhang.

    Each brought their own personal touch to the show. Some created dramatic films while others created immersive installation-like worlds. Gentle Monster’s segment of the show, in Seoul, felt futuristic with giant bright screens swiping through photos of close ups of models and the Moncler logo. JW Anderson’s segment felt romantic with imagery of a teacher and her students roaming around an Italian museum.

    Many stars played a part in the event: actress, Victoria Song, hosted alongside Keys, Solange Knowles preformed, Members of INTO1 modeled, actress Sophie Okonedo features in one of the short films presented, and many more.

    “Today is not only about products, but is even more about our communities and the culture we want to shape together. The world is changing, people do not want the same things as before, they demand and expect more from brands. Today, we must find new ways to connect and engage, becoming pioneers of new messages. The greatest inspirations I had in my life came directly from people and at Moncler we know that the more we inspire people, the more they inspire us. I truly believe in the power of connecting communities around experiences and creative visions. This is the principle that guided the creation of Moncler Genius for 2021,” said Remo Ruffini, Chairman and CEO.
