GCDS Launches First Eyewear Collection

GCDS is here to make your eyewear collection a lot more stylish. The indubitably cool streetwear brand’s debut eyewear collection dropped today, and it’s full of the fun shapes and styles you’d expect from them.

Let’s be honest, it’s been a long year and a half. Sometimes, putting on a mask and a big pair of sunglasses to hide from the world is necessary. As the closest thing to a mask that’s considered accessories for the eyes, Creative Director Giuliano Calza took inspiration from the mask-meets-sunglasses look for this collection. GCDS’s eyewear campaign wanted to express the different faces and facets that represent the brand.

The brand’s first and official expansion into eyewear is playful yet elegant, easily reflecting their vision of taking a younger approach to the iconic “Made in Italy” sentiment. The campaign, aptly named “All The Faces of GCDS,” features models expressing their own style in that cool yet approachable fashion that GCDS has become so well known for. Sunglasses shapes include cat eye, square, butterfly, mask, pilot, and others. They blur the line between two worlds and balance both gracefully: the black and white tones go hand-in-hand while the colorful vivid shapes and imagery show a more lighthearted and rebellious side. With bold designs like a cat ear shape (yes, cat ear, not cat eye, though they have some of those too), GCDS takes on that daring look like no other.

The initial drop has 14 designs right now, but expect more in the future — Calza will keep us from getting too bored and continue dropping new styles over the coming years.

GCDS, short for “God Can’t Destroy Streetwear,” was founded in Italy in 2015. Since its founding, the brand has always maintained a strong visual identity and a unique approach to the world we live in today, and this eyewear collection is no different.

In the past, GCDS has created capsule collections with some iconic names in entertainment, including Rick & Morty, Mr. Men & Little Miss, and Tom & Jerry, keeping up with the brand’s unmatched fun and dreamy aesthetic. From Dua Lipa to Bella Hadid to Kali Uchis, all have been muses of the brand to inspire designs.

The new collection is available now at gcdswear.com, in GCDS shops in London, Milan, and Rome, and in select optical shops in Italy.
