French brand Coperni presented its first video campaign for Spring/Summer 2021, shot entirely with Extended Reality technologies that are usually used in gaming software. The campaign features Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) to create immersive space.
The XR technology was first used in Star Wars’ smash series the Mandalorian, essentially combining real-world and virtual environments and realities. The user can exist within the virtual world, but can also interact as if it’s real life. Working closely with gaming software company Unreal Engine, Coperni has created an animated 3D world, ‘played’ in real-time on a quad-diamond-corner screen where the user can be immersed within a new digital environment.
Directed by We Are From LA – music video directors for, Pharrell Williams and Dua Lipa – the video was created in Paris at the first XR studio in France, created by Julien Collect and Pierre Guy-Costanzo.
The Spring/Summer 2021 campaign reminisces on the show on the rooftop of the Montparnasse Tower in Paris, as the characters in the video encounter each other on top of a building. The video takes inspiration from workers on skyscrapers in New York in the 1930s, as the XR technology hypnotizes the viewer watching the city lights from above.
Coperni’s Spring/Summer 2021 film will be available on May 3 on Coperni’s Instagram account and wwww.coperniparis.fr.
