The Fendi Baguette bag, a staple accessory of the ’90s and early 2000s, was forever immortalized in a memorable scene on Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw stumbles into an alley and is mugged by a fashion-conscious passerby. “It’s not a bag, it’s a baguette,” Parker exclaims in the scene, as the robber makes off with her Baguette bag and her Manolo Blahniks.

Now, the Fendi Baguette bag is back. Featuring a campaign starring SJP herself, a special edition of the purple sequin bag, originally created for the Fendi Fall/Winter 1999 collection, is now available for pre-order on fendi.com and will be sold in Fendi boutiques starting mid-July 2019.

Originally designed in 1997 by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Baguette bag ushered in an era of maximalism for the ’00s, appearing under the arms of street style-savvy celebrities and fashion lovers alike.
