Beyoncé and Balmain Announce a Coachella Capsule Collection for a Cause

It’s been nearly three months since everyone spent their Saturday night obsessing over Beyoncé’s Coachella performance. From guest stars like Jay-Z, Solange, and the rest of Destiny’s Child to feminist moments and glittery streetwear, the music icon’s night in the California desert truly was one to remember. Lest you allow that magical feeling to fade away, Bey is releasing a capsule collection with Balmain, who designed the iconic looks for her and her dancers.

The new release, which launches July 14, will allow everyone to rock the same pink and yellow sweatshirts that Beyoncé paired with denim cutoffs on the Coachella stage. Additionally, Balmain has designed a new black t-shirt, covering all bases for hotter days or a less bright look. The designs will feature HBCU-inspired lettering and graphics, just as they did at the festival.

In the past few years, Beyoncé has advocated more than ever for black communities and the new capsule will align with that message. Fitting with the pieces’ HBCU theme, proceeds will benefit the United Negro College Fund. This follows the star’s Homecoming Scholars Program initiative, through which she awarded four black university students with a ,000 scholarship earlier this year.

Balmain has continued to collaborate with Beyoncé on her new tour with Jay-Z, a meaningful connection between the music artist and creative director Olivier Rousteing that could likely bring more show-stopping moments in the near future.
