Now Casting: Saffron Vadher

START body

Saffron Vadher has only been part of the modeling industry for a little over a year, but she already is building an impressive repertoire. The half-Indian, half-English talent started her runway career as a Burberry exclusive for Spring/Summer 2017, and since then, she’s walked for the likes of Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and recent CFDA winner Sies Marjan, traveling the world for campaigns and editorials in between fashion months.

After growing up in Harrow, just outside of London, Vadher has embraced her new, busier lifestyle. However, despite her accomplishments and love for her work, the young model hasn’t lost her humble attitude or appreciation for time at home. „I just work hard at what I get,“ she tells CR of her philosophy when it comes to castings and gigs. „I’m just kind of happy-go-lucky.“

This fall is sure to bring more show-stopping moments for Vadher as she walks the next season, but nearer on the horizon are music festivals and off-season opportunities to seize. CR chatted with the busy up-and-comer to learn about her style icon, dream travel destination, and what she would do on a rare day off.

How did you get your start in modeling?
I was always acting and singing and dancing from a really young age, and then I started doing a bit of modeling. Not anything on a big scale, or anything like that. Then, my friend said that she knew someone in Elite London, so she recommended me and then I went in for a walk-in interview, and then they signed me.

What are some highlights from your career so far? Do you have any favorite shows you’ve walked or campaigns you’ve done or anything?
My favorite thing about the job is the traveling because I get to see some parts of the world that I wouldn’t necessarily have gone myself. I went to Mexico, to this place called Cuixmala and that was my favorite place ever.

If you weren’t a model, what would you be doing?
I would have probably stayed in my job at Waitrose. I worked in the Central London branch, on Oxford Street. They actually had a cheese room, so I had to learn about the cheeses and things, which I really enjoyed.

What is your go-to everyday outfit?
If I was working, it would be trousers and a cute top, but if I was just lounging at home, it would be a tracksuit. I do really like Adidas, but I’ve just bought a Nike tracksuit and it’s really comfy, so I think I’ve moved over.

Do you have a style icon?
I really like Bella Hadid. I just love her style and that it’s comfy but it’s also really stylish. It’s a bit of me.

Do you have any fun plans for the summer?
I’m going to try to go to as many festivals as I can, but work pending what I can actually go to.

What is your dream place to travel?
I used to always say Barbados, but I really want to go to Iceland. I was talking to a photographer about it, and I was like, “I’ve never even thought about going there.” I was looking at some pictures and things; it just looks amazing, so I’ve changed mine now to Iceland. I really, really want to go, and from London it’s quite a quick flight.

What would your ideal day off be like?
Doing absolutely nothing. Just chilling out. I like walking my boyfriend’s dogs, so it would be something like that, absolutely. The bare minimum.
