If you hadn’t had enough Gucci after last week’s 100-look Spring 2018 show, the brand has just announced a new capsule collection with the artist known as Unskilled Worker, whose illustrations will appear on accessories and ready-to-wear.

Alessandro Michele first tapped the artist (real name: Helen Downie) for Gucci’s 2015 No Longer/Not Yet exhibit in Shanghai after coming across her work on Instagram. Over the past few years, the designer has discovered and partnered with a series of artists from the social platform (including Gucci Ghost and Jayde Fish), turning those collaborations into lucrative marketing opportunities. So it’s no surprise he’s releasing another soon-to-be-successful artist collab. Not to mention Downie’s “naive and expressive style” dovetails perfectly with Michele’s signature, eccentric aesthetic.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the way people invent themselves through their appearance. So when I began painting it was only natural that it would become part of my work. The Gucci paintings are an emotional response to Alessandro’s work. It’s been like a creative conversation,” Downie explained. “I think we both like hidden elements in our work. It’s been so exciting to discover his world and then mix it in with mine. Little secrets are threaded through the work, things held dear since childhood. It’s intensely personal.”

The expansive ready-to-wear and accessories capsule features loafers, tote bags, bombers, and more key pieces decorated with Unskilled Worker’s childlike illustrations of flowers and cartoon characters (adorably meta-dressed in Gucci). And because the Italian brand has been particularly *extra* these days, the packaging for the collection will also be covered in the artist’s work. Additionally, Unskilled Worker has created an exclusive piece of artwork available for free download on her website and Gucci.com when the collection drops on October 11. Who would have thought a luxury fashion house would be the champion of democratizing art?

The Gucci Unskilled Worker collaboration will be available exclusively online on gucci.com beginning October 11, 2017.
