Vintage Cigarette Ads

While you’d be hard-pressed to find a tobacco advertisement in mainstream media today, 20th Century adverts made smoking cigarettes look as glamorous as possible. On April 1, 1970, President Richard Nixon signed the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act, which banned cigarette ads from airing on television and radio. On the 50th anniversary of the ban, click through to see vintage smoking ads from the last century.
