Over the years, Coca-Cola has gone through several changes through its ingredients, slogan, and how it’s advertised. Invented in 1886 by John Stith Pemberton, the drink was originally intended for medicinal purposes and was soon after acquired by businessman Asa Griggs Candler, whose marketing tactics led to the brand’s overall dominance of the soft drink market during the 20th century.
