TriBeCa and Chanel unite again for their 7th Annual Through Her Lens program. Through the program, five up-and-coming women filmmaker teams participate in masterclasses in script-to-screen development, music composition, costume design, producing, and directing lead by the film industry’s leading women. At the end of the intimate and immersive three days, one team wins full financing to produce their short film with support from TriBeCa Studios, and the four other projects are awarded grant funds for their projects.
This year’s masterclass advisors and jurors include Leslie Mann, Amy Schumer, Gaylee King, Melissa Barrera, and many more influential and trail-blazing women.
In addition, TriBeCa and Chanel created two projects to emphasize the support of women in the industry of the need and importance of women’s voices in film. The first of the two campaigns are a three-part video series series entitled In Development, featuring actresses Lucy Boynton and Alisha Bo, and 2019 Through Her Lens winner, Hannah Peterson. The three women speak on their creative process and individual experiences as creatives in the field.

The second campaign launched in support of the program is a photo series featuring over forty-five industry leaders. Participants include Angela Bassett, Angelica Ross, Chase Sui Wonders, Dasha Nekrasova, Diane Kruger, Ella Hunt, Glenn Close, Hari Nef, Kristine Froseth, Leslie Mann, Lucy Boynton, Maude Apatow, Natasha Leon, Phoebe Tonkin, Ry Russo-Young, Sadie Sink, Uzo Aduba, Whitney Peak and many more.
The program kicks off today with a public conversation featuring, actress and producer, Taraji P. Henson.
