Thanks to auction houses realizing that the power of a star never wanes, it has become easier than ever to get a piece of old Hollywood. First Christie’s announced that it would hold a sale of Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe, and now Sotheby’s is auctioning off Vivien Leigh’s memorabilia.

For those not in the know, Leigh was one of the most celebrated stage and movie actresses of the 20th century, with critically acclaimed performances in A Streetcar Named Desire and Gone With the Wind.

Next month a whole host of the actress’s belongings are going on sale, making some seriously vintage chic available for the first time. Fashion fans might be particularly interested in her Balmain shawl, illustrations of her costumes, her leather evening gloves, or her Gucci tumblers (which, thanks to Alessandro Michele, are totally back in style).

The best news of all is that many of these items are conservatively estimated to fetch under £500, making this particular auction quite exciting for the Leigh fan in your life.

The Vivien Leigh collection will be exhibited at Sotheby’s in London on September 22, and will go on auction September 26.
