As we gear up for the 74th annual Golden Globes premiering this Sunday, it’s all of the usual topics like who will win, and who will wear what. But we’ve taken a look through the award ceremony’s past going all the way back to the 12th showing in 1955, when massive stars like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor ruled the stage. And for good measure, we’ve thrown in some ’70s and ’80s moments with Barbara Streisand, Mia Farrow, Cher—and let’s not forget baby Drew Barrymore. We’re bound to see some great dresses this year, but look at how chic these award shows used to be.
