Aretha Fraklin’s full-bodied voice set the tone for her nearly lifelong music career. She became an American icon, the Queen of Soul, whose passion and spirit emanated from her singing. During her half-century of music-making history, Franklin’s talent earned her a spot as the first woman in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and 18 Grammy awards throughout her career.
