Rumor has it that three of the world’s most popular male musical acts are boycotting the 59th Annual Grammys because they feel that the awards no longer represent the music industry. It’s been reported that Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Drake are opting out of the ceremony on February 12th, in spite of each being nominated in four or more categories. Drake will be on tour in Europe, but allegedly never planned to attend and supposedly Bieber doesn’t think that the nominations reflect younger artists fairly. Speculative articles report that Kanye’s reasons are more racially motivated: He has always lost when pitched head-to-head with a white artist in the same category.
