This season for Haute Couture, Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrated Christian Dior’s own atelier in her made-to-order assortment of fashion in an feminine display of simplicity and classical elegance. Muted colors appeared beside hand-painted lace while tailored jackets and oversized sleeves were paired with the artistic director’s most revitalized accessory, the Dior beret. After the runway event, the house hosted an intimate dinner at the Maison Christian Dior apartment in Place Vendôme (yes, that one), where a new collection of fragrant fragrances, soaps, candles, and creams were debuted by perfumer François Demachy. To celebrate both, Scream Queens star Emma Roberts brought CR along the ride during her day in Paris, which began with a lace, champagne-colored number and subtle beauty by make up artist Mary Wiles in the morning to a dark and sultry moment after hours. See more below.
“We wanted to keep my hair and makeup natural for the show since it was daytime, but still bring out my eyes. In my daily life, I love nudes and pinks with lots of mascara, so that’s what we did but with a pop of mauve shadow. We wanted the vintage vibe of the dress to shine.”
“Every Dior show is incredible. It’s always a cohesive story from the moment you get out of your car. I loved Cruise 2016, especially, which was in London. We took a special Dior Train to get there, and had lunch on it on the way. It was very glamorous!”
“Fashion should always be fun, but I do appreciate the level of sophistication and seriousness that comes with couture. It’s crazy how much craftsmanship goes into each and every look.”
