Chanel Unveils Limited-Edition Collection for 100 Years of N°5

Did fragrance even exist before Chanel N°5? Let’s ignore history, and go with no. The luxury house’s signature perfume recently turned 100 years old, and Chanel is expanding the scent for a limited-edition collection titled “Factory 5” to celebrate.

For anyone who simply can’t get enough of the iconic fragrance, Factory 5 provides seventeen new products incorporating N°5. Each item is inspired by an everyday object, illustrating the versatility of the perfume. Mundane necessities, such as cans and paint tubes, now contain precious body care formulas infused with Chanel N°5 as the sole ingredient. Functional pop art.

“By reusing these everyday objects, N°5 has subverted their functions, demonstrating once again that luxury is in the experience we have of things. Dressing these objects with the N°5 identity, they become luxurious, iconic products, while keeping their own designs,” shared Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, the brand’s Head of Chanel Global Creative Resources – Fragrance & Beauty. “Whether it’s a tube of paint, a tea tin or a burette, all are universal, timeless objects that we have dressed in N°5’s visual codes so as to transfigure them.”

Worldwide pop-ups, imagined as mini theme park to explore N°5, will be unveiled in major cities following June 29. Entertainment meets Chanel’s trademark luxury in a vibrant shopping experience, complete with demonstrations and a colorful factory feel.

Chanel’s Factory 5 will be available on June 29 in worldwide pop-up shops and online at House of Chanel.
