The world of Chanel expands this week in New York City with the opening of the Atelier Beauté Chanel, a site for visitors to experiment with and explore the fashion house’s makeup, skincare, and fragrances. More than anything, it’s a place for people to connect with Chanel through the artists-in-residence who are there to educate and collaborate with visitors. The website invites all to, “Come as you are, stay as long as you wish, and visit as often as you would like. Try a little of everything, make a mistake or two and find new things you love.”
Located in SoHo, the sleek and luminous Atelier houses different stations to appeal to the senses. A lipstick bar lays out all of the colors to help you find your perfect shade. Likewise, an eye color section pristinely displays eyeshadow palettes for testing. The Coco Lab presents stations to try and apply the newest collections. In another section, the Parfum Atelier encourages a sense of adventure through blind scent exploration, where unidentified blotters of the various fragrances are available for you to smell. Once you choose the three most appealing scents, a fragrance guide will explain each one’s composition and notes and help you create your own “personalized fragrance flight.” As with the other sections of the Atelier, the focus is on discovery and interaction with Chanel’s luxurious offerings.
The artists-in-residence are present to provide a variety of services, allowing you to meet one-on-one with an expert to help you build a skincare regimen, add to your existing one, find your newest makeup look, or create the ideal face for a special occasion. They can also help you set up an online profile to keep track of the products you love for your next visit.
Although the Atelier officially opens on January 25, the store is hosting Makeup Happy Hour on January 23 and 24, which you can secure a spot for on the website.
