There’s something incredibly intimate about a beauty routine. It’s a ritual that you’ve honed to perfection over the years, that you’ve tailored to meet your every skin’s need, that you conduct every morning and night. As extraordinarily ordinary as it is, it’s the one reassuring constant in your life, and for that, it’s a deeply personal experience—which is why CR got the buzziest, most in-demand French girls around to reveal their daily beauty habits, tried-and-true products, and secrets (and, hopefully, shed light on how to achieve their flawless complexion).
Cindy Bruna, model
“I think less is more. As a model, we wear loads of make up on stage, while shooting, or walking in the shows. After factoring in traveling and trying to manage jet lag, it becomes truly important to remove makeup at night. Moisturize a lot and drink plenty of water. Those are all parts of my beauty routine. I can be makeup-free the whole day, and that’s sometimes my favorite look.”
Ophelie Guillermand, model
“Cream! I use lots of cream and I drink a lot of water. Makeup-wise, I like the no-makeup makeup look for everyday. I use Nars concealer, YSL Touche Éclat perfecting pen under the eyes and on the bottom of the nose, Chanel brow pencil, and Bobbi Brown brow gel. Sometimes, I use the Tom Ford contour palette and highlighter.”
Camille Hurel, model
“I clean my face with Bioderma. I use different face creams, but right now I love Embryolisse or a Chanel serum for something lighter. I don’t usually wear makeup, but if I want to, I put on a red lipstick, a Dior concealer if I need it, and that’s all. My eyes are really sensitive with all the shootings, and shows—I recently bought Cicaplast B5 by La Roche-Posay, and it’s amazing! Put it around your eyes as a mask every night or before a party or a shoot. And drink hot tea and water as much as possible—it really changes your life, I promise!”
Estelle Chen, model
“I wash my face day and night with a foaming cleanser, put some hydrating and brightening lotion, and either a heavy or light cream, depending on the season!
For tips I would say: Avoid wearing makeup and always wear sunscreen with SPF 50, even during the winter. Sun is really damaging but most people don’t think about it too much. And also drink lots of water and eat your fruits and veggies!”
Camille Jansen, model and singer
“I don’t put anything on my face other than moisturizer after I shower.”
Sabina Socol, model
“My beauty routine is evolving constantly. It used to be super simple, and as I grow older I think it’s more complete. But my main thing is always to look natural and undone.”
Iman Perez, model
“My beauty routine is extremely simple. I spend my whole days at the stables with the horses, so not much is needed for that. I just try to stay extremely hydrated by drinking lots of water and to apply a good face cream in the morning and at night. I cannot start my day or go to bed if my face is not cleansed and moisturized.”
Karidja Touré, actress
“My secret is: water and Shea butter. I drink a lot of water every day, and I always put cream on my face. I am very soft with my skin. I don’t use miracle lotions, nor have I ever used a beauty mask in my life. I think it’s important to have one cream and one soap that you will always use, because products can contain different ingredients that may not always be good for your skin.”
Violette, makeup artist
“My skincare routine is everything but effortless. And it changes every three months to follow the seasons. But I have a few rules I stick to: I use a soothing milk remover that I massage my face with for a few minutes before I rinse off. I do not use cotton pad to clean. Only for lotion. I always use a serum and on top, a cream. I am very religious about skin care! Skin care is very serious to me; makeup is much more free and fun. A few products I cannot live without: In Fiore Sauvetage serum (this is the serum—its formula is five times more powerful than hyaluronic acid), P50 lotion from Biologique Recherche (this is an essential; my skin is heaven thanks to this—bye-bye pores and pigmentation), Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair foil mask (I never travel without it; it’s the rescue mask for your skin—you put it on and, boom, you’re back to your best self), Dr. Barbara Strum sun drops (a genius sunscreen serum that I can put in any cream), Biologique Recherche masque vivant (a game-changing mask that purifies, brightens, tones, and refreshens the complexion), and Estée Lauder wake up balm (I love applying this cream before my makeup; it has a bit of glow and it makes the skin feel very smooth).”
