The full list of contenders for the 74th Golden Globe Awards were announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association this morning. Leading the way is the romantic musical La La Land, which totaled seven nominations including best picture, best director, and best actress and actor for its lead stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Coming in at a close second, is Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight. The coming-of-age film about a young, gay black man pulled in six nominations, including nods for best supporting actors, Naomie Harris and Mahershala Ali. Tom Ford scored two nominations for writing and directing his second feature film, Nocturnal Animals and Deadpool was a surprise nominee, scoring multiple nods in the ‘Best Musical or Comedy’ category.

Over on the small screen, the most nominated television series included Netflix’s The Crown, Stranger Things and HBO’s Game of Thrones, Westworld, and The Night Of. Amazon original series Mozart in the Jungle and Transparent also picked up numerous nods and The People v. O.J. Simpson walked away with five nominations.

The awards are voted on by around 85, predominantly freelance journalists who are active members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The winners will be announced on January 8th 2017, in a televised awards ceremony hosted by Jimmy Fallon on NBC.
