Margiela Wants You To Deface Its New Sneaker

The “Replica” sneaker has been a mainstay at French fashion house Maison Margiela for several seasons. Originally, the style was inspired by the athletic uniforms of the German military, which Margiela has retooled in various iterations over the years. For the first time though, the shoe is being released in a plain white version.

The “Replica’s” upper is typically made of suede or leather, but the newest version is a paper-like synthetic material. The new men’s shoe, titled “Replica Message,” is intended to be written on. Taking customization to a new level, the pair comes with a special branded marker.

The “Replica Message” retails for 5, and is now available in stores and online.
