Most famous for his on-screen portrayal of Prince Charles in Netflix’s The Crown, actor Josh O’Connor takes on a new role in a new series by CR contributor Gray Sorrenti for Loewe. Wearing Spring/Summer 2020 pieces from the Spanish house’s technical line, Eye/LOEWE/Nature, the two traveled to Japan, making their way from Tokyo to the forests and rivers of the Fuji-Hakone Izu National Park to see how the clothes transitioned from the urban to the outdoors.
With Mount Fuji as a backdrop, Sorrenti’s images show O’Connor hiking through the misty valleys of ancient bamboo groves and canoeing through Lake Aishi. Fitting seamlessly within the scenes, the collection—a range of psychedelic-colored parkas, durable workwear jackets, polo shirts, cotton, graphic tees, and seven-pocket cargo trousers—is Loewe’s first real experiment into sustainability. In fact, many pieces within the line incorporate a of organic and recycled fabrics, and for every product sold, the brand will donate 15 euros to environmental causes.
Notable to this season is a new, small Nature Backpack. Available in two, contrasting colorations, the compact piece was designed with ergonomic cushioning for added back support; while a companion Chalk Bag in matching hues is a stylish add-on for beverages.
Like past collaborations between Sorrenti and the fashion house, the campaign’s images will be published in a limited edition publication designed by M/M (Paris).
Loewe’s Eye/LOEWE/Nature Spring/Summer 2020 collection is available online now.
