It’s been announced that after a two-year stint, Italian designer Massimo Giorgetti has exited Emilio Pucci. The creative director joined the Florentine house after Peter Dundas’ departure in 2015 and will leave his post, effective immediately. Under Giorgetti’s stewardship, Pucci’s signature zesty prints and bursts of colour were streamlined into a more youthful, street-savvy look, receiving mixed reviews from critics in the international press.
“This experience with Emilio Pucci, one of the most representative and historic brands in fashion, was an inspiring journey that has also contributed to my professional growth,” said Giorgetti in a press release today. The designer added that he will be focus solely on his own brand, MSGM, moving forward: “Today, my brand needs more and more of my attention and all my energy.”
In the same statement, Emilio Pucci’s chief executive officer, Mauro Grimaldi expressed his gratitude to the designer. “We have decided in total agreement to end the partnership. I would like to thank, personally and on behalf of the company, Massimo Giorgetti for the great professionalism shown during these two years of collaboration.”
Giorgetti’s successor has yet to be named.
