Château Rauzan-Ségla or Château Canon?

With the launch of their new art book, Chanel is highlighting the people, stories, and most importantly, the wine behind two famed French wineries—between the communes of Margaux and Saint-Émilion. Both now estates of Chanel, the two have a deep history in the famed winery region of Bordeaux, France. Through the emotive work of five photographers and three writers, the art book highlights the unique identities and voices of the two historic estates.

From One Bank to Another is a three-in-one book: Rauzan-Ségla, the Estuary, and Canon. The book’s striking images highlight the distinct architecture of the two estates—observing their differences while also referencing the rivers and surroundings that unite them. Capturing unassuming details such as untouched objects and winding architecture, the book’s photographers—Thomas Dhellemmes, Brice Braastad, Patrick Messina, Jérôme Bryon, and Luc Manago—evoke an unmistakable sense of intimacy throughout the work.

Effortlessly intertwining with the artful images, the words of Patrick Wald Lasowski, Alice Biscarrat, and Aymeric Mantoux bring a multi-faceted perspective to the book. Through combining the knowledge of a historian, sensory novelist, and sommelier, Chanel offers a unique view into the worlds of its quietly intriguing estates.
