Hotties, Megan Thee Stallion is back with a new video!
This time, the latest internet-breaking single from the rapper’s newly released debut album Good News celebrates body positivity with some major fashion moments to boast. Stallion has not only established a knack for insanely catchy—and viral—songs but also for her equally shocking cameos: first Kylie Jenner and Normani in “WAP” and now Jordyn Woods, Taraji P. Henson, Blac Chyna, and more in “Body.”
The hitmaker has cemented herself as a daring fashion icon with bold fashion choices— remember the custom Mugler filled “WAP” video? Stallion’s distinct style artfully combines body positive pieces, subtle fashion nods, and a sleek aesthetic for one of the most exciting wardrobes in the music industry. For the Good News album cover, Stallion reinvented John Galliano’s iconic newspaper print with her own bodysuit, glove, and cowboy hat combo adorned with headlines centered around her work for Black women and breaking stereotypes.
The rapper tapped New York native, Brookelyn Styles to curate the video’s extensive wardrobe. Chatting with CR, Styles said she wanted her view of Megan as a “strong , beautiful, sexy woman [who] exudes confidence” to take center-stage in the video’s wardrobe. “From my mood boards to sketches to prepping to fittings, it’s a fact Meg is the hardest working artist and I’m honored to create moments like this with her” said Styles.
Styles perfectly captures this essence through a sleek color palette, streamlined silhouettes, and even the incorporation of fetish-wear. Throughout the video Megan and her counterparts sport fetish favorites like harnesses, pasties, and latex which adds to the video’s body positive, girl-centric theme. The rapper is taking control of her body, subverting the male gaze and long-held misogyny within the rap industry. The fetish focused wardrobe and Stallion’s sex-positive girl group display a distinct female sexuality without centering men. Stallion celebrates the diversity and beauty of her peers, something that has been missing for far too long in the rap industry.
Celebrity fashion designer, Ashton Michael constructed the majority of the songstress’ looks throughout the video. Known for his intricate designs, Michael has worked with Lil Kim, Beyonce, and Nicki Minaj—so he definitely knows how to construct a bodysuit. The official Hot Girl featured a variety of sexed-up looks throughout the video, ranging from Michael’s sheer catsuit to a more casual Fear of God and Savage x Fenty look.
Below, Stallion sports an alluring floor-length coat with a glittering diamond necklace by Baroq co. The burnt yellow ombre coat was designed by Antonio Ortega, known for extensive puffer pieces and a precise attention to detail. The rapper wears the coat during a scene with Taraji P. Henson where the two can be seen strutting and posing to lyrics that are already stuck in our heads: “Body-Ody-Ody-Ody-Ody-Ody-Ody.”
Jordyn Woods
The social media and reality TV star stunned in a military-inspired bodysuit with major embellishment and fishnets.
Taraji P. Henson
The “Empire” and “Hidden Figures” actress grabbed attention in a latex leotard, a sleek newsboy hat, and matching boots for another military-inspired moment.
Blac Chyna
In true Blac Chyna fashion, the bombshell social media star sported a sleek catsuit, pasties, and sky-high heels by Pleaser.
Maliibu Miitch
The rapper flaunted a metallic chain mail look completed with bedazzled pasties and an elaborately beaded collar.
Megan Thee Stallion has done it again, combining a star-studded lineup, unforgettable lyrics, and eye-catching fashions for a video that will go down in history. Her smartly styled fetishized wardrobe offers commentary on misogyny within the music industry, allowing for Megan and her girl squad to take control of the narrative. Stallion has quietly, yet quickly, become a relatable fashion icon able to rival the extensive wardrobes of Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and countless others. The captivating “Body” video has left us with one fact in our minds: It’s officially Stallion Season!
