Chanel is introducing a luxury pop-up boutique in the picturesque mountains of Aspen, Colorado. Opening its doors today, the store features everything from shoes and handbags, to fine jewelry and ready-to-wear. In celebration of the heritage of the brand, the design of the shop was inspired by Coco Chanel’s legendary salon and apartment, bringing Parisian flair to the ski town at the base of the Elk Mountains. Visitors may explore the ephemeral boutique until January 21, 2020.

Alongside pieces from the Fall/Winter 2019 collection and Cruise 2020 collections, fashion-forward mountain dwellers can find an array of winter accessories and essentials throughout the store. From Chanel-branded skis and ear muffs to scarves and gloves, the boutique brings Parisian luxury to the slopes. Also highlighted among the novelties is the new Chanel 19 handbag, named for the year of its inception and to mark the new chapter in the fashion house’s history as Virginie Viard leads the brand forward.

Following the death of Karl Lagerfeld last February, Chanel presented the final collection of the designer with a show inspired by a high fashion ski village, not unlike the chalets of Aspen. Visitors of the boutique will be among the few to see Lagerfeld’s last creations in a setting fit to match the one he envisioned. The looks that graced the snowy runway were abundant in bold black and white houndstooth, and punctuated by colorful knitwear. Chanel’s iconic tweed and whimsical accessories also sparkled like snowflakes among the ensemble of icy looks created with snow-capped mountains and outerwear in mind.

The Chanel Aspen boutique is open now through January 21, 2020.
