No one knows what the future holds, but that hasn’t stopped us from trying to find out. From astrology to palm reading to fortune telling, we’re fascinated by the mystic arts that give us clarity about where we came from, and perhaps hint at where we’re going.

The fashion industry has been all about it, and the house of Christian Dior is particularly steeped in the history of the occult. Monsieur Dior himself was deeply interested in astrology—a theme current Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri has explored by incorporating mystical symbolism into her designs.

Her recent Resort ’18 collection was inspired by Motherpeace Tarot, a deck designed by Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble in the 1970s. “The Tarots of Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble are powerful, they are the artistic expression of a feminism capable of healing and strengthening. I wanted to reuse them with a pop spirit,” Chiuri said in a statement.

To celebrate the arrival of its mystical new collection, Dior is opening a series of 12 (like the 12 signs of the zodiac) pop-ups around the globe that tap into the tarot theme. Inside, intricate wall hangings are hand-painted with arcana motifs from the deck like the wheel of fortune, grand priestess, and the sun. Also on display: exclusive merch from round minaudières to decorated bombers and leather biker jackets perfect for the witchy woman with designer taste.

Dior’s seventh store in the pop-up series (above) opened today in Paris at 386 Rue Saint-Honoré. Other locations include Antonia in Milan, The Corner in Berlin, and the Webster South Beach in Miami. The latter will take place from December 12th to January 3rd. In the meantime, catch up on your horoscope, and try to get through the rest of Mercury retrograde.
