Gucci Hosts a Spring Soirée for Alessandro Michele’s First Fragrance

START
Just one day after the Met Ball (and its wild after party), the fashion set returned to the party scene. This time, to honor Alessandro Michele’s first women’s fragrance for Gucci called In Bloom. As the scent’s name suggests, “blooming” was the verb of the evening at the MoMA PS1 courtyard, which was turned into a dreamscape housing an abundance of roses, jasmine, peonies, wisteria, and lily of the valley that hung from just about everywhere. A lit up floral canopy covered a majority of the art museum’s yard as well as the stage that would later be taken up by electronic duo Goldfrapp, whose new album is topping charts. On stage right, a collection of colorful caged birds hung out, almost as colorful as the evening’s Gucci-adorned guests that created a sea of green, blue, purple, and metallic ruffles throughout the party.
But back to the reason why we were all there, we did manage to get a whiff of In Bloom off of editor Karla Martinez’s wrist. The scent doesn’t launch until September 2017, but we’ll have more news on the floral number in due time. If it’s anything like the rest of Gucci’s cult favorite collections, you’ll be smelling it everywhere come Fall.
