Shirley Ann Stotesberry, 88, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born on January 3, 1936, to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Reese Rigby. Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, William Stotesberry, Sr. and Fred Mason; one daughter, Sherry Mason; and her siblings, Bubba, Buckjack, Edith, Dot, and Mary. 

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Missy Skaggs (Jay); sons, Bud Mason (Kathy) and Perry Mason; adopted son, Danny Erb (Cathy); grandchildren, Elizabeth Skaggs, Korey Mason (Kandyce), and Melissa Watkins (Cody); great-grandchildren, J.J., Maverick, Luke, and Maxwell; brother, Bob Rigby (Shirley); special niece, Cookie (Brute); and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Aunt Shirley, Lyn, Crater Hospice and Brighter Living for their special care. 

Shirley retired from Petersburg General, where she worked as an administrative assistant and worked for Dr. Jack Moore. A member of the Colonial Heights Moose, she enjoyed dancing and gambling. Shirley had a talent for creating beautiful paintings and cherished her time gardening and nurturing her flowers. She loved taking walks around the neighborhood to connect with her friends. Her warmth and creativity touched everyone around her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at East Matoaca Cemetery, 21688 Memorial Ave, South Chesterfield, VA 23803, with the Reverend Dennis Lipke officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. 

Flowers are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice or Matoaca United Methodist Church.
