Stockholm-based fashion house Acne Studios has announces Repurposed, a series of product drops created using excess fabrics and materials from the label’s previous collections. A women’s capsule will spearhead the series, which launches today.
Concentrating on women’s essentials, Acne Studios’ first Repurposed collection consists of suiting, outerwear, and shirting. The modest drop features seven garments with recurring and contrasting materials including tweed, denim, and leather, which are patched together and embellished with silver zip details. A fitted, tweed blazer accented with brown tailoring wool, a graphic tee with tweed lettering, and jeans with tweed front panels are a few pieces that comprise the chic and conscious collection.
While each Repurposed collection will remain true to the series’ overarching philosophy, every capsule will offer a new perspective for the brand by utilizing new fabric treatments and focusing on specific materials. Following the mantra of “creative expression is in the limitations,” the Swedish fashion house will source excess fabrics from its regional manufacturers to generate its various drops.
Acne Studios Creative Director Jonny Johansson spoke to the brand’s ideology behind the collection, saying “This new series is about finding creative ways to be more resourceful.” He continued, explaining its connection with the brand’s heritage. “Acne Studios was founded on design experimentation, and today we want to use our creativity to take positive steps towards becoming more mindful.”
The Repurposed women’s capsule collection is now available in store and online.
