Diane von Fürstenberg to Honor Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at DVF Awards

Diane von Fürstenberg will be hosting the 11th annual DVF Awards in the nation’s capital this month, where U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be honored with the Lifetime Leadership Award. Past recipients of accolade include Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Gloria Steinem, and fellow Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. This year’s ceremony will take place on February 19, and women from around the world will be honored for their work on human trafficking, prison reform, and other issues that affect women on both a local and an international scale.

Von Fürstenberg expressed her excitement for bestowing Bader Ginsburg with the award, explaining how she has served as an inspiration to women for decades. To celebrate the occasion, the designer decided to bring the awards to 86-year-old Bader Ginsburg, hosting the ceremony in DC rather than New York City.

The awards, founded in 2010, celebrate the extraordinary and inspirational women that have devoted their lives to women’s rights and issues. The Diller-von Fürstenberg Foundation grants each honoree ,000 to further their work with a non-profit organization.
