Oh summer, you were a cool one! Our airy slip dresses and bikini tops were hardly put to enough use. It’s likely the reason why we’re less ready than usual to slip into our darker, heavier pieces for fall. Before we pull out the muted knits, wool suiting, and neutral cashmere sweaters—we’re making room for the brighter side of Fall 2014 and all its 1970s-inspired trends: Psychadelic scarfs from Prada, multi-colored furs that rival Joseph’s dream coat, and otherwise simple separates are dripping in vivid colors, making us think that summer’s end isn’t something to mourn after all. As they say, “To Everything There Is a Season.”
