Since its initial reveal at Kim Jones’ Dior Men Fall/Winter 2020 show, the release date of the fashion house’s highly anticipated collaboration with Nike’s Jordan Brand has been a mystery, leaving sneakerheads everywhere eager for the drop. Originally intended for an April release, COVID-19 complications led to a three-month pushback, as well as a re-conceptualized online reveal. The new digital initiative was unveiled this morning, as fans had the opportunity to participate in a first-come-first-serve shopping experience for the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 OG Dior sneakers. The house also released details on the accompanying Air Dior capsule collection, which boasts 1980s-inspired sportswear silhouettes influenced by the legendary Michael Jordan.

As expected, the launch caused a massive stir in the sneaker world, and registration for the experience filled up within hours after the site went live. Those lucky enough to catch the brief registration period were able to chose between either a high or low-top pair of the shoes, both accented with dual branding and Dior’s signature oblique logo. In the coming days, winners of the exclusive pairs will be selected and will pick up the sneakers from a nearby Dior store.

To further enhance the sneaker collaboration, the fashion house provided a glimpse at the accompanying Air Dior capsule collection with a series of photographs shot by Brett Lloyd. The selection of trousers, shorts, tracksuits, knits, tops, and jackets balance streetwear with tailoring, and were designed specifically to pair with the Air Jordan 1 OG Dior sneaker. The crisp designs in beige and monochrome tones complement the grey and white shoe for a sophisticated and sporty look.

Although the sneaker registration is closed, the accompanying Air Dior capsule will be available at several Dior Men stores from July 8.
